These are the two insider steps I tell every client to take when they suspect medical malpractice. Today, I’m sharing them with you.
Step 1: Personally request a complete copy of your or your loved one’s medical records as soon as possible.
We routinely advise clients to request the medical records themselves before we send a provider a request from our office. Getting the records yourself, and having them ready for our review, will jump start our review of your potential medical malpractice claim.
Step 2: Create a timeline of events.
When you ask us to investigate a potential medical malpractice claim, one of the first questions we ask is: “what happened?” Creating a timeline will help you record important facts, dates, provider names, and statements while they are fresh in your memory. It will also help us quickly understand what happened, when it happened, and who was involved — greatly increasing the speed of our investigation. If you suspect medical malpractice, start a timeline today.
If you or a loved on has questions regarding a potential medical malpractice claim, please feel free to contact me. We’re here to help.
